B3-06

This is the number of my shuttle in which I travel to Bang3 situated in Banergatta road near Forum Mall.

It is a huge White and blue bus with Arrow symbol > in the glasses . Our company doesn’t use its name in most of the places , except for the symbol “>” .

The name and symbol signifies “Accent Towards Future”.

I got introduced to a friend called Abhishek in one of the Orkut communities for Accenture even before I joined .
sweet person used to give me all the information of what is happening in training and stuff, and he introduced me to Shantha Jyothi….

Shanta hmmmmm a calm gal with cute smile 24*7 , she stays near my home she accompanies me in bus.. We always make fun of some silly songs being played in our radio.

We have a couple of friends in Bus whom we haven’t spoken to until today but just notice each other and give a smile……

It s a long journey to office abt 2 hours …thanks for the Bangalore traffic or else it wud have been just a 45 mins journey…………..

Bangalore is getting overpouplated each and every day........................

"Gal Gang"

Ya we are a gang now…. Sandhya (me), Divya HD, Sandhya Dinesh ,Reenu Gupta -> gang members .

We should be awarded for saving the life of a guy who was trapped in Tower c lift one day….. we called the security ppl and they worked out a plan to help him out, but we were never thanked…..

Tats ok….. good deeds have to be done without any expectations………….

We spend most of our breaks in Rest Rooms and break out areas…. I don’t know why we gals love mirrors……

Most of the time we explore our huge office, we were lost many of times too….
Can never forget the experience of walking down all 13 floors after seeing the Hellipad……

Three cheers to our gang……….

Bang1….Bang2….Bang3……Bang4…..

Sounds like Gun shots ryt? Hee hee……
But these are the names given to our offices in Bangalore. I am in Bang 3 at present which is the largest IDC of Accenture in World.

It’s a huge office with Tower A,B and C inter connected on the top most floor.
The special attraction of Bang3 is the “Hellipad” at the 13 th floor.

We explored that place too…it was Awesome.

Bang3 is one “heaven” for many…..atleast for me and my friends .

We are currently in Green Field Training and our first 20 days on Foundation Training was held in SanIT solutions nearby Bang3 itself…..
After the training we were split in groups for stream based training, sad part is there was
no VS. Net allocated for our batch and we are currently in Testing stream.

We are having a ball of time here…especially out training room being in 7th floor near cafeteria.

“My First Day at Accenture”

Finally the day arrived……. And it was my Brother Sunny’s birthday too.
Our Induction Program was organized in “Gold Flinch” Hotel.

The day went well we had a great time, there were lot of presentations related to Accenture overview, Core Values, Life and safety, JSE Experience.

The lunch was great too. And I forgot to mention tat my friend Divya who was my classmate in SCTIT was with me in the same batch.

Harappa and Mohenjadaro’s city plan were much better…………………….

I don’t know why I remember my history lessons when I come across Kalkere Main Road in RM Nagar.

Even though the Main road has various shop outlets and many Bus stops ,there is a large sewage Gutter uncovered, I feel H & M’s city plan were much better….

It’s disgusting to start our day by passing through that road which happens to be the main road, Thank god there is no such things near my home………….

I am thinking of mailing to the Times Of India people abt the same…lets seee……

Relocation blues…………..

I got a mail from my HR Rep stating that I have been posted to Pune and my joining date is sep 6.

Don’t know what happened to me for a second when I was reading that mail, I couldn’t speak for some time, then slowly I turned towards to my mom and said her the news she was shocked too.

We were happy about the Job but never expected that I will be relocated to other city cos we had full hopes on being posted here. Had a tough time getting over the issue and gathering guts to move to a new city.

I have never been alone in my life far from my parents I guess tat’s the reason I was so depressed, I cudnt stay without my brother sunny too. I cudnt afford to loose my close friends… all these were diriving me mad…. But then I made up my mind that iam going to Pune.

My friends Sowmya, Nadeem and Divya were also recruited for Accenture.
Sowmya was posted to Hyderabad, Nadeem to Mumbai, and Divya still waiting……

My flight tickets were booked all set and then suddenly I get a mail from DeeptiRaj tat iam posted to Bangalore office ,she was my HR dept representative , doesn’t matter who she is cos at that moment she was my Goddess.

There was some problem in the Pune office so it was postponed and we were posted to Bangalore and our joining date was extended to sep 18.

I was really so very happy tat day……. Was jumping around calling all my loved ones telling them tat iam gonna torcher their lives by not living Bangalore.

Mom’s Dream House

Mom’s Dream House

After a long wait , mom’s dream came true, we moved into the new house at Sir MV Nagar, Rammurthynagar.
The House warming ceremony was held on 27 August on Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
It’s a beautiful house, with 2 bedrooms and a Guest room on top of our house,
Iam thrilled with the small area of grass lawn and many flowering plants at the front of our house.

It’s a calm place, except for the fact that its little bit interior from the city’s centre than our old house which was at GM Palya near BEML.

Had a tough time leaving my old place but then life goes on…. Will miss my old place where I spent 8 years of my life, and all my important academic period (10,12,and engg) was spent there .

I am loving my new house, will post snaps of it very soon.

My Dream Job

Ya this is wat I call it. After so much hustles and disappointments of losing out my second last final round of Adobe interview , I was actually a bit gloomy… but then The Adobe experience was awesome, there were totally 7 rounds, one written test and six technical interviews. I cleared written test + 4 rounds and lost n 5 th round.
Anyways it was a good experience cant forget Ravi Kiran and Praveen of Adobe who were my interviewers in technical rounds , who screwed me royally and made me realize my limitations. Which are gonna be taken care in near future .

Now coming to the good part, I got a notification mail from VTRACU, this was a
Placement Program which was a joint venture between our VTU university and Meritrac ,
Which is a leading Placement agency.

I had written the Meritrac test 2 months back during my 8th sem itself, never knew tat it wud be so benfecial.
The Meritrac test itself was a long process , 2 written tests verbal + quantitative, HR round and GD(which turned out to be speak abt a topic ).

The mail suggested us to set preferences to the companies which are tied up with the VTRACU program.
The companies were Accenture,Mindtree,TCS,TESCO, Subexetc…..

My preference was 1.Accenture 2. Mindtree 3.TCS ….

After a week I got a mail saying tat july 30 is my interview process and Accenture interview time was scheduled.

It was at RNSIT college which I knew quite well , I waited a long time before the first round cud start, and then the time came when my name was called out.

The GD topic was “ Should the mobile phones be banned in colleges?”
Bingo…….. cos first of all I speak a lot and this topic was pretty interesting even though I hate mobiles being banned cos am addicted, I spoke “for” the topic that is “should be banned” .
I cleared the round I spoke well J

My next round was technical round, a strict young guy was my interviewer he somehow managed to greet me with a smile, and he said gimme a minute to go thru your resume, and then he asked abt my MS acticivites, final year proj and then he started shooting questions abt oops,c,c++, and abt Ajax, and .NET which normally they wudnt ask but he started may be cos of my proj.

After a while he said “ya u r done”, I asked him “have I cleared?” cos each and every round was a elimination round, and since he never smiled or nodded I never knew whether i was ryt or wrong.
He gave a smile and said “don’t worry” , you will be notified.

The meritrac volunteer came upto me after few minutes and said u can go for the “HR Round “ ,phew….. it was such a relief.

I went in for the HR round there was a sweet lady with cute smile, I forgot to mention she was damn cute ,young and beautilfull J .

She started with few qs abt my family and then my schooling, and then she asked why did I give Accenture had first preference and stuff.

Some qs regarding company and then she asked bat MS activities and whether I had other job offers I told her abt UST .

And then she went on for a while, and said ok “you are done”.

I went out was waiting with my fingers crossed to hear the Good news, I was a bit confident by then tat I wud clear.

After some time I was called and sent to a room where I had to sign my Offer letter, I cudnt control my excitement, by the time they were getting the papers ready, I messaged my parents and close friends abt it.

After few minutes I signed the offer letter. And was officially now employed to my company J

Can never forget the day….. -"Go On,Be A Tiger"

"my second job offer"

My Close friend Ratish ia a great guy… he helped me a lot in many ways by referring me to his other IT friends and giving me constant support when needed.

His cousin brother used to work in a company called Comcreation in JP Nagar few years back. He referred me for an interview.

I reached there and underwent some 4 rounds of interview again…. Aptitude test , .Net technical test , Technical interview, Hr round.

It went well but I was not satisfied with the one year bond and pay below 10k. so I decided not to take the job.

Was confused a bit thinking whether should I go for UST or Comcreation…one is good pay but far from home and the other was viceversa

Weekend passed with my mind thinking about all the possibilities…… but then I decided am not gonna take the offer of comcreation .. .. my friend karthick and sunny were also against it.

"First job offer"

Thought of just putting down my memories of certain incidents and changes in my life.

Job searching/hunting or even jobs collecting was fun and in the same time very stressfull…..

Since there were no campus placements in my college I just waited for my final sem exams to get over. And then I started searching.

It wud have been just a week after my exams tat we had an opportunity to write for “US Technologies “ .

We had tied up with Offcampus pool program with Saptagiri college and HKBK college .
So whenever the criteria matches i.e 65% above candidates or some similar criteria we wud get a call from the placement officers of tat college.

US Technologies placement was held on 19 and 20 th of june…. We just finished our project exam on june 13 and were relaxing and stuff ….

When we heard abt this placement with great difficulties we tried to read RS Aggarwal and other aptitude books.

The day arrived… I made friends with students from different branches of engg to in my college. Got close to Sowmya & Nadeem of EC.
And since my last sem class was combined with CS . we IS students got to make friends with CS ppl too…

Some of my close friends in CS were Praveen Srivastava, Divya Lok Suman,Wishi Aggarwal. And in IS , prathibha.

We usually meet up in shivajinagar at 8 am and then go together for the respective college.

We reached saptagiri college around 9 am and then waited for so long until the US.T ppl arrived.
Their flight reached ontime, but the banglore traffic delayed them .
They came around 2 pm. And started with intro an stuff.

We had our written Aptitude test that day which consisted of RS Aggarwal kind of qs it was pretty interesting and tricky….

After much delay we got to know tat we were selected and were supposed to come the next day i.e 20 th for the Group discuusion.

We leftthe college around 8 tat day and were asked to report in the morning 9 am next day… we hardly had time to relax…

Our GD started and sowmya went first has she was in group 2 . she dint make it….

Then next I went and I got thru it was fun… we had two topics it was fun…
Praveen got thru too….

Tehn we were sent to HR + tech round my HR was a lady…. She asked few tech qs.
She gave me two puzzles to solve it was fun..

She was dazed abt my other activities of MS and she was asking abt it a lot….

And then at 6 pm we got to know tat I was thru….

This was my First placement or Job .

Was quite happy abt it,, apart from the fact tat I had to goto Trivandrum for the job.

From my college it was me, Praveen, amit, aatif, and few more totally 7 i guess.

UST was a good company CMM level 5 company but I had to leave Bangalore which was very tuff for me…….

This was my First job offer. :)

Magical Mystery Of Life

Life has its own unique blend of everything ...

You might be just thinking that
this is the way its gonna be ...
this is how iam gonna live...

but you know what ......Sometimes its just not so..............

Few days from now i might just laugh reading at my own blog...

but then... you know i guess i am growing up each

and every day and gaining loads of experience in life.

Some are sweet some are sour...
Some are shocking but still amazing....

The best part of life is we get Gifts everyday....

Rather than being nostalgic and cribbing over things

which i usually do iam learning to just keep moving on and on in life and

learning to take life as it comes without any regrets..

Our Life is just a mere reflection of what we believe, understand and accept .

Being a Gal

Ya being a gal is one of the nicest thing in life according to me atleast....

One of of my friend who happens to be well experienced in life wrote a poem

about gals....

usually we hear from boys that gals are so tough to be understood... but then

here is what my friend has to say ....

When a GIRL is quiet, Millions of things are running in her mind.
When a GIRL is not arguing, She is thinking deeply.
When a GIRL looks at u with eyes full of questions, She is wondering how long you will be around.
When a GIRL answers "i'm fine" after a few seconds, She is not at all fine.
When a GIRL stares at you, She is wondering why you are lying.
When a GIRL says I love you, She means it.
When a GIRL says "i miss you",
No one in this world can miss you more than her.

Difference between Focusing on Problems and Focusing on Solutions

Case 1
When NASA began the launch of astronauts into space, they found out that the pens wouldn't work at zero gravity (ink won't flow down to the writing surface). To solve this problem, it took them one decade and $12 million. They developed a pen that worked at zero gravity, upside down, underwater, in practically any surface including crystal and in a temperature range from below freezing to over 300 degrees C.

And what did the Russians do...?? They used a pencil.

Case 2 One of the most memorable case studies on Japanese management was the case of the empty soapbox, which happened in one of Japan's biggest cosmetics companies. The company received a complaint that a consumer had bought a soapbox that was empty. Immediately the authorities isolated the problem to the assembly! line, which transported all the packaged boxes of soap to the delivery department. For some reason, one soapbox went through the assembly line empty. Management asked its engineers to solve the problem.
Post-haste, the engineers worked hard to devise an X-ray machine with high-resolution monitors manned by two people to watch all the soapboxes that passed through the line to make sure they were not empty. No doubt, they worked hard and they worked fast but they spent a whoopee amount to do so. But when a rank-and-file employee in a small company was posed with the same problem, he did not get into complications of X-rays, etc., but instead came out with another solution. He bought a strong industrial electric fan and pointed it at the assembly line. He switched the fan on, and as each soapbox passed the fan, it simply blew the empty boxes out of the line. Moral : Always look for simple solutions. Devise the simplest possible solution that solves the problems

Always Focus on solutions & not on problems
So at the end of the day the thing that really matters is HOW ONE LOOKS INTO THE PROBLEM, mere perceptions can solve the tough probs...

Style of Decision making.........

Each of us tends to have a certain style of decision-making.

Take a glance at the list below, and see where you fit in:

Impulsive – you go for the first choice presented to you.

Fatalistic – if something's meant to happen it will, it's fate.

Compliant – you go along with the crowd or someone else's opinion.

Delaying – you need more time, or you'll think about it later.

Agonizing – you feel overwhelmed, and can't make up your mind.

Balancing – you weigh all the factors, and then go ahead.

Of course, the ideal method is the last, "Balancing."

And a very simple tool to help you do just that is something

called "Benjamin Franklin's Balance Sheet."

And yes, it's something good old Ben came up with to

help himself make decisions. It's very simple.

Simply take a sheet of paper and draw a line down the middle.

On one side, put the pros for the option you are considering and on the

other, put the cons.
You can then refine it and assign each entry a "weight"

according to importance of +0 to +10 points for the pro side

and -0 to -10 points for the cons, and add them up.

You'll quickly see the benefits of either side, and your decision will then

almost make itself.

So here's to better decision making to set you on the road to success!

Ajax

The word "Ajax" is the latest Buzzword everywhere.

Ajax is a technology that runs in your browser . It uses asynchronous data transfer

between the browser and the webserver , allowing webpages to request small bits of

information from the server instead of whole pages.

It is a Webbrowser tecnology independent of webserver software.

If we start wondering abt What makes Ajax differnt ?

Well , an Ajaz application eliminates the start-stop-start-stop nature of

interacting on the web by introducing - an Ajax engine- between the

user and the server .

Instead of loading a webpage , at the start of the session ,the browser loads an

Ajax engine - wriiten in javascript and usually tucked away in a hidden frame.

This engine is responsible for both rendering the interface the user sees and

communicating with the server on the users behalf.

By the way AJAX stands for : "Asynchronous JavaScript and Xml"

All the new major products launched by GOOGLE use Ajax technology,

Gmail,Google groups, Google Suggests, Google Maps. etc.

MSAPP - RSS READER

I have decided to take up MSAPP project . i.e Microsoft student academic project .

iam planning to do RSS READER.

RSS is a family of XML file formats for Web syndication used by (amongst other things) news websites and weblogs.

REALLY SIMPLE SYNDICATION

The technology of RSS allows Internet users to subscribe to websites that have provided RSS feeds; these are typically sites that change or add content regularly. To use this technology, site owners create or obtain specialized software (such as a content management system) which, in the machine-readable XML format, presents new articles in a list, giving a line or two of each article and a link to the full article or post. Unlike subscriptions to many printed newspapers and magazines, most RSS subscriptions are free.
The RSS formats provide web content or summaries of web content together with links to the full versions of the content, and other meta-data. This information is delivered as an XML file called an RSS feed, webfeed, RSS stream, or RSS channel. In addition to facilitating syndication, RSS allows a website's frequent readers to track updates on the site using an aggregator.
